€19 one-time · version 1.x updates included · one app-specific key for up to 7 Macs · no account or subscription.

Keep the sound while it is happening.

Any input on your Mac

Record the built-in microphone, a USB microphone, an audio interface or another input Core Audio can see.

Your Mac, directly

Capture the audio playing on your Mac without installing a virtual driver or sending the recording through a cloud service.

Both in one take

Record Mac audio and an input together for conversations, demos, walkthroughs and quick voiceovers.

Levels you can trust

Watch live left and right peak meters and get an unmistakable clipping warning before a take is lost.

Pause without dead air

Pause and resume one recording. The paused time is left out instead of becoming silence you have to remove later.

A take survives trouble

Recorder keeps recoverable source audio while recording and offers to finish interrupted sessions the next time it opens.

The format you need

Save WAV, AIFF, CAF or M4A at 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz, with 16- or 24-bit PCM where the format supports it.

Check and trim

Play a finished recording, see its waveform and save a trimmed copy while the original stays untouched.

Your recordings stay yours

Capture and finishing happen entirely on your Mac. There is no upload, account, analytics or telemetry.

Quick answers

Questions about PX7 Audio Recorder

What is PX7 Audio Recorder?
Record an audio input, Mac audio or both together in a focused native Mac app. Live meters, automatic recovery and local files.
Where does PX7 Audio Recorder do its work?
PX7 Audio Recorder processes audio locally on your Mac.
How much does PX7 Audio Recorder cost?
PX7 Audio Recorder costs €19 once. It includes a seven-day trial, and one app-specific key can be used on up to seven Macs. There is no subscription.
Which Macs can run PX7 Audio Recorder?
macOS 14.2 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon
How do I record system audio on a Mac?
macOS does not let apps capture what your speakers are playing by default, which is why most guides tell you to install a virtual audio driver first. On macOS 14.2 and later an app can ask the system for that audio directly instead. PX7 Audio Recorder uses that route: choose your Mac as the source and press Record.
Can I record computer audio on a Mac without BlackHole?
Yes. BlackHole, Loopback and similar tools work by adding a virtual audio device and routing your sound through it, which changes your audio setup system-wide and has to be undone afterwards. PX7 Audio Recorder captures Mac audio without installing a driver, so nothing about your normal output changes.
Can I record my microphone and Mac audio at the same time?
Yes — both are captured in a single take, so a conversation and the sound playing on the machine end up in the same file without lining anything up afterwards. Select an audio input, your Mac, or both together before recording.
Can I record audio from a browser tab or an online meeting?
Anything playing through your Mac is captured, whether that is a video in a browser tab, a call, or a stream. There is nothing to configure per app or per site — the recording follows the sound your Mac is producing.
